The White House
Hillary Rodham Clinton with 50 state
Eggs
- For decades, First Ladies have been involved with
Easter celebrations at the White House. Hillary Clinton's special
- interest is a decorated egg display. Each year since
Bill Clinton was elected President the White House has invited
- The American Egg Board (AEB) to send 51 decorated eggs
to Washington DC for display.
-
- There are only two rules for the artists. 1) The egg
must be a Large-sized chicken egg. 2) The egg must be decorated
- with its large end down. (This is so it can sit on a
special stand without toppling over.) Artists can use any
decorating
- materials they like. When they are done, thy are
interesting miniature works of art.
- After the Easter season each year, the eggs are
carefully packed and stored. Someday they may become part of the
permanent collection at the future Clinton library.
