The White House

Hillary Rodham Clinton with 50 state Eggs

For decades, First Ladies have been involved with Easter celebrations at the White House. Hillary Clinton's special
interest is a decorated egg display. Each year since Bill Clinton was elected President the White House has invited
The American Egg Board (AEB) to send 51 decorated eggs to Washington DC for display.

There are only two rules for the artists. 1) The egg must be a Large-sized chicken egg. 2) The egg must be decorated
with its large end down. (This is so it can sit on a special stand without toppling over.) Artists can use any decorating
materials they like. When they are done, thy are interesting miniature works of art.
After the Easter season each year, the eggs are carefully packed and stored. Someday they may become part of the permanent collection at the future Clinton library.
